The group’s musical foundation is built on deep-rooted swing, masterful improvisation, and a flawlessly coordinated ensemble sound, refined on the world’s most prestigious stages.

James Morrison (Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Piano)

At the heart of the quartet is James Morrison (AM), a virtuoso of extraordinary range and a Member of the Order of Australia. Beginning his professional career as a teenager, Morrison made his stunning US debut at the Monterey Jazz Festival at just sixteen years old.

His illustrious career includes performances at iconic venues such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Hollywood Bowl, and London’s Royal Albert Hall. He has collaborated with an astounding list of jazz legends, including Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea, Quincy Jones, Ray Brown, George Benson, and Wynton Marsalis. A regular at world-class jazz shrines like Birdland, The Blue Note, and Village Vanguard in New York, and Ronnie Scott’s in London, James has also performed at the BBC Proms and International Jazz Day at the White House. Beyond the stage, he is the founder of the James Morrison Academy of Music, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of jazz talent.
